Leishen Power, a new leading intelligent high-efficiency powertrain solutions provider, has officially launched. Leishen’s products include a world-class modular hybrid powertrain platform, high-efficiency dedicated hybrid transmissions, new hybrid engines, and new E-drive systems. This new powertrain brand is part of Geely’s commitment to sustainability, offering consumers sustainable low-emission powertrain solutions.

On October 31, 2021, Geely Auto Group officially released its global powertrain brand “Leishen Power” along with its new modular intelligent hybrid powertrain platform, Leishen Hi-X. The platform features globally leading technologies, including an ultra-high 43.32% thermal efficiency engine, the world’s most advanced 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), 40% reduced fuel consumption (NEDC rating), and full powertrain FOTA (Firmware Over the Air) update capabilities.

The core product of Leishen Power is the Leishen Hi-X platform, which offers revolutionary hybrid power experiences with enhanced fuel economy, power, comfort, and intelligence. Designed to meet diverse customer needs, the Hi-X platform is adaptable for A-segment to C-segment models and supports HEV, PHEV, and REEV configurations.

A new generation DHE1.5 (1.5TD) dedicated hybrid engine has been developed by a global engineering team. This engine incorporates high-pressure direct injection, a supercharger, the Miller cycle, and low-pressure EGR, achieving a thermal efficiency of 43.32%. The world’s most advanced 3-speed DHT Pro hybrid transmission integrates two E-motors, transmission, and controllers, weighing only 120kg while delivering maximum torque of 4920 N•m.

Leishen Power also introduced a new E-Drive motor built for high efficiency and performance. With an 800V e-motor and silicon carbide power module, it delivers a maximum power of 475kW and enables acceleration from 0-100km/h in under 3 seconds.

In an HEV configuration, the Hi-X platform reduces fuel consumption by 40%, with an NEDC rating of 3.6L/100km. It offers 20 intelligent driving modes and supports FOTA updates for the entire powertrain system. The platform also includes a smart parallel drive mode for improved power delivery efficiency and features like a catapult start for better acceleration and high-speed overtaking performance.

The first models to utilize the Leishen Hi-X platform will be Geely Auto’s flagship “Star” series, including the Xing Yue (Tugella) and Xing Rui (Preface). Over the next three years, Geely Holding Group will expand electrified powertrain options across its family of brands, advancing sustainable development and carbon neutrality.
